Hello, currently I am on notice period, last month I have worked on saturday and applied for compensatory off in BMS tool, and in workday I had applied as Casual time off as my manager told m to do so. now I am getting leave type mismatch email , and manager is saying you can ignore that email. I’ve been practicing in traditional labor for about two years now (although about a decade of labor relations experience) but I’m trying to break into employee benefits law. Unfortunately I’m not being given much experience in benefits as I’m pretty typecast as a labor atty. Any advice on how I can go about getting employee benefit experience? My long term goal is to have benefits be my main area of practice.

I have a governmental entity client in Texas that wants to offer 6 weeks of paid parental leave for all employees, even those who aren’t eligible for FMLA. After the paid 6 weeks, the employee can choose to continue paid leave using any accrued personal leave.

Texas does not have a paid parental leave statute.

If paid leave above what is required is offered for parents, do we also have to provide the same benefit to other employees that are eligible for unpaid leave?

Hi there. I previously had a beautiful baby girl through IVF and emergency c-section. Now I'm in the process of completing my pre-requisites before another FET. I had my hydrosonogram, trial embryo transfer, and an overall check of my uterus. Due to my muscle thickness, they're recommending with my next pregnancy to have another c-section. Curious what the base and commission structure is for inside sales and associate director of sales in biotech (also anyone else who wants to share pls put industry). Paid hourly or salary? At the biotech company I work at avg inside sales is $62,632 with a $3500 per quarter cap. Commission structure is % based on sales quota reached vs capped (not a direct % of sales). I’m underpaid at $53000 with $3500 cap per quarter.

My friend received two job offers for Account Executive roles: a Mid-Market role with Confluent and an Enterprise role with ThoughtSpot. He’s conflicted because Confluent is a more established company, ThoughtSpot is Pre-IPO. Confluent is a lucrative product to sell and has established SDR reps so there’s a good blend of inbound and outbound sales. Thoughtspot is more of a startup culture where most of the sales comes from outbound and it’s a tougher sell.
