You will typically hit target at Salesforce. If we have a good year, sometimes they fund the bonus pool higher which can increase what you get (but this is typically not much, think an extra percent or so). There is also a performance multiplier that can increase your bonus, but this is also rare to see increased by any notable amount. Gratitude bonus is a 0 sum game, so if you get an extra percent it means somebody else lost a percent. So, in many cases it is better to be on a large team that has people coming and going as that can sometimes leave more room in your pool to carve up a bonus.
Bottom line expect 10%, occasionally you get a little extra but nothing that is exciting unless you did something truly exceptional.
Also note a lot of customer facing roles like CSG are shifting to quarterly commission like bonus where you are tied to certain metrics like sales and utilization. These can open the door for bigger payouts then target if you hit on your metrics.
For the commission stuff, you should get a plan from exactly that outlines your metrics. This varies by role. Utilization is normally the primary metric that you can control- IE- be assigned to a project all the time…
