What to talk about at the beginning of a zoom or work call before the actual meeting starts? Always default to the weather 😂

I am curious how other inclusion teachers are being utilized when the school is doing remote learning. I find that I am sitting in the zoom class and have very little opportunity to contribute. I am having discussions with my teachers on ways that I can better support them and the students when remote.

Do we still need suits?

Gained that covid weight - now trying to figure out if thats still a thing and I may need to get a new one. I mean it is kind of weird sitting in a home office/spare bedroom on zoom or w.e. in a full suit and tie to me.. What do yall 🐟 think?

Do MBA student clubs use Teams or Slack? Do they use just the free tier?

I was recently offered a Zoom interview. The school had 10 interview slots for me to choose from. Three were one day this week and the rest are next week. I chose the first time slot available. Should I have waited until one of the last slots so I was fresher on their mind when choosing a candidate? I am just sitting here stressing out until I here something. Also, do interviewers still appreciate a hand written thank you for the interview?

Teaching Autistic Support via Zoom is so difficult. The behaviors are way worse and there is next to nothing I can do to help my students parents.

I need advice about Zoom. Is it easier to have a zoom link with your personal Id or a simple generated one? Has anyone seen any unique places to find UX portfolios or post jobs other than the usual suspects?
Some UX Slack channels were doing well for a while but I definitely don’t see as much traction there. Meetups obviously came and went. Even the portfolio sites like Dribbble and Behance don’t seem that same.

As things start to open up fully, some of my institutional clients are sending notices that we are expected to do X activity over zoom from here on out (things we used to do in person). Clearly it’s a cost cutting measure. Anyone else feel like filing for telephonic appearance so the insurance company can save a buck isn’t going to sit well with judges who prefer in person attendance? Generally curious how many companies offer phone reimbursement? My last gig did not but the current one does. Help - how do I fight claims by scammer healthcare providers?

I recently went to 2 different providers.

Dentist, made appt via Zocdoc to see a dentist that was in network. Another dentist at the location saw me instead who was out of network. I have text evidence they said it would be covered before visit. Claim was denied - asking for ~500 dollars.

Saw a specialist who’s office staff verified my insurance would fully cover the claim. Get the claim, says they are out of network. Owe 600.

A senior person in my org who I don't know, mailed me with "Hi <my last name>" asking for some help. I replied back with "Hi <requester's last name>, how can I help?
Never heard back from this person.
