What will rebounding after COVID look like? After layoffs, office closures etc. How long could it take to break back in now that networking opportunities have changed, offices are remote, hiring and positions open are limited in comparison to the numbers let go? How realistically will people not be able to reclaim a job in this industry? How long is too long of gap due to COVID and will companies ie (young recruitment teams who are naive) overlook thise gaps due to the economy?

Is it just me or do 90% of the jobs being laid off by big tech sound made up? Many job descriptions with multiple bullet points that all kinda revolve around the same idea. One of my buddies works for a big IT company and literally just sits on meetings all day. No one really contributing to anything other than agreeing to whatever the speaker is saying. Are these kind of jobs finally being exposed? Six figure employees getting paid to sit and bounce ideas off each other?

Hi all- My SO is currently at a Big4 & was initially preparing for S&O roles at GCP but given the high number of ex MBB consultants hired, they believe its just more competition to get the offer & to eventually get promoted over time.

Instead, they have decided to pursue program manager or cloud consultant roles, which they feel might have a lower barrier to entry from an assessment standpoint. Not sure if the bowl agrees but would like to get your thoughts, thanks!
