Our raises are based on performance reviews and range from 0-5%. While a 5% increase is not much to start with, it is nice to know your review means something and you will be financially rewarded for hard work. When I compare it to previous jobs, I'm happy for even a 3% hike

Unfortunately, most employers stick to 2-4%. Often regardless of performance.
