This is clearly either a troll or someone who is so new that 170% is deceptive because it's coming from like, a month of work. Our firm sets extremely clear expectations about utilization targets and gives you tools to forecast out your year so you can achieve that target while taking your PTO. Going above target it a good thing but when you veer into exceeding target by more than 15% you actually achieve the opposite effect- as someone who has faced that problem several times. You need to talk to your manager/ counselor about your hours immediately and re-baseline expectations if this is a serious ask.
This is the consultant version of that guy who outsourced his own job to China without telling his employer. The wrinkle here is that the consultant kept motherfuckin' billing anyway

Wow, that's super low. You'll prob get a 4 or even fired! 🙄
My partner always says if you don't have at least 1 pending case for billing fraud, you're not billing enough.

Well played. 👹👹👹👹👹
LOL @D2 all I gotta say is... Whoosh
Yeah... 170% is too much. Why brag about something like that? Just shows that you can't say no to abuse or you are fudging your hours.
If you are really billing 170% to your client, then either your SM and Partner fucked up in the proposal phase or your client is too dumb. If I was the client I would have fired you and that team by now.
Wel' this is awkward
^such a fantastic story btw 🤣
Lol at you idiots who think this is a real post
Why not 180?%
Hahaha, funny 😜
Wow.. 170%? Are you doing the job of 2 people? I don't know how you can get away with such a high utilization. I seriously hope you're being facetious....

This is literally a troll post from an older post today guyd
If you are 170% on a fixed fee project you are crushing the margin and will likely be rolled off shortly
A humble brag from an idiot too willing to work for free.
I had 11% utilization and they gave me a 17% raise, you're fine with 175% utilization
