Fishes, how were the appraisals in general at Deutsche Bank for roles in Mumbai location? Understand that they got concluded only recently so it will be interesting to know. While it may vary from function to function but we will atleast got to know a ballpark figure. Also if you could add your designations, will be great.

How has nobody suggested the marina or cow hollow for a recent grad yet? Very fun neighborhoods for the younger crowd (but prob need roommates)
Marina is basically post grad Greek life. Not everybody’s cup of tea.
Mission, hayes valley, castro

A lot of people commute from Oakland. Central San Fran is too pricey for a recent grad.
I don’t think so. Out of my 35 people start class I think only three people lived in the east bay and that’s because they grew up there so it was free rent
What are you looking for in a neighborhood? Hard to recommend with so little to go off of, but neighborhoods I like:
Mission — so much to do, so many great places to eat, lots of young people, easy access up to FiDi, can be expensive
Bernal Heights — good proximity to the Mission, quiet and laid back, good parks, not great for public transit
Inner Richmond — very affordable (for SF), great food, terrific proximity to Golden Gate Park, reliant on the 38R bus which may be inconsistent for rush hour (though the bus lanes should help) and on the wrong side of the fog line
Inner Sunset — very affordable (for SF), terrific proximity to Golden Gate Park, the N gives easy access to FiDi but on the wrong side of the fog line and it’s a pretty quiet neighborhood
If you decide to go outside of SF, I recommend the East Bay for sure. More Bart accessible areas and Berkeley/Oakland are pretty great in their own respects too.

Rent is much lower than it used to be but roommates are fun.
Congrats on the job! What’s your budget and what sort of stuff do you like?
I’m thinking max like 2.1k rent a month?

SOMA
AVOID THE TENDERLOIN..north nob hill is nice or SOMA or financial district
You can take the Bart or ferry from east bay if your office is in financial district. If I were you I’d get some roommates and live in Russian hill or marina, use muni or walk to work
I’ve lived in the city for 2 years and I would never ever live in SOMA or the tenderloin. I also lived in nob hill for two years right out of college and it was manageable. I wouldn’t listen to people who say don’t do it if you’re a recent college grad because I feel like my entire start class filled with college grads live in the city and don’t commute in.
OP I live in soma right now and will be moving away once my lease is up. Dead after business hours, lots of sketchy streets, lots of homeless people

Russian hill - you can bike or walk to work. Soma works too. Def go SF
Lots of nice luxury building in soma and around king station. I used to live in 855 Brannan and it was really nice.
Mission! Go closer to Potrero Hill for slightly cheaper rent
K1 The Mission is also one of the densest areas in SF. Lived there for several years and no issues.
