Hi friends! I’m looking for resources to help me be successful in a “Functional Lead” role.

The role is in FinTech
I’m responsible for strategy, comms and key partnerships for a bank product. It reports through Customer Experience but touches product, Ops. marketing. It’s basically a Project Manager role but more nuanced.

Anyone out there in a role like this? Any books. videos or even best practices to share?

So I just started a new job in sales (B2B specifically). All my life I’ve been in blue collar jobs, military, then construction work ect. I don’t have much money saved to get myself my own business cards as I’m sure they are important to have, I’ve got all the info that I need to go out and start selling. I guess what I’m looking for is just tips on how you guys were successful walking into a whole new arena if that makes sense?

I’m worried that my voice, communication style, and body language comes across as too effeminate for our straight clients and peers. I’m transitioning to sales now and am insecure that my personality and appearance may hinder sales gen? Client industry is very old school. 4th year at a mid size PI firm. Got pulled from litigating MVAs to help this solo we hired start a med Mal/nursing home practice. 1 year in and it looks like I’m two steps backwards in terms of getting paid because we’re a year or more out from a lot of the fees hitting. I respect the solo a lot, he’s a mentor, but I’ve got kids and I gotta get paid. Trying not to burn bridges, but I can’t wait years to get cut in. Advice?

So I used to work for a company where my job was good, was a director of business solutions for a fashion brand. Only issue was that the CFO micromanaged and ended up leaving. My background is digital transformation however I took an infrastructure position to rebuild a provincial healthcare system. I always lacked the hardware side and thought this was a good move but I feel like I’m losing my digital skills and don’t enjoy the work. I’m in it for 7 months now.

Anyone know how to get a position as an HRBP without HRPB experience? All positions I've looked at want previous experience. Would over 5 years of HR experience and a PHR suffice, or what skills should be added to that?

I have US and Can. HR designations and about 3 yrs in HR in Canada. I'm currently in a process improvement role in healthcare, but really want to work in HR. I live rurally with literally no open HR roles close by. I may have the opportunity to work in a quality lead role with my current employer, but I plan to move back to the states in the next few years and want to stay marketable. I'm searching fervently for remote HR roles that may also offer US experience. I'd appreciate your thoughts!
