1) it fluctuates annually so nobody really knows
2) people are generally uncomfortable discussing compensation (even partners)
3) if competing firms want to know what I make, I’m not going to make it easy on them.
As McK1 said, just ask about partner compensation. When I give annual reviews I tell people what partners earn so they know what they are shooting for, but I have no intention of posting it on Fishbowl
It’s not secret. Talk to any partner you trust assuming you have shown some commitment to the firm and they will likely tell you all about it. It’s just rarely posted on the wall, for pretty obvious reasons.
From what I understand - it’s 600k guaranteed for 2 years .. considering some factors .. then it will go up... I do not think salaries should be a secret.. the only reason companies keep it a secret is to have leverage ... ie they don’t want the underpaid ppl knowing they are underpaid...
Ours are standardized to two numbers based on level. Not a secret, but not sharing with other firms publicly.
and there are endless endless threads in here about this.
I don’t think it’s all that much of a secret at this point
What is it then?
Not all partners start the same place on the grid

My guess would be that the amount of politics increases exponentially at that level with more complex factors going into a Partner’s starting salary when compared to any other consulting level. Because of that, there’s no upside to be gained by being upfront about starting salaries at that point. Most likely viewed as unprofessional for salaries to be openly discussed at any level but especially so at Partner level
Not a secret. Partners can view each other’s units at Deloitte. It’s just it’s not respectful to spout out how many units each own
