Do you always need an MBA to get into MBB?
Hello from Cloud! On insta as cloud.theragdoll

Hi. I'm a final year btech student, and I recently got an offer from PwC India for the post of Sr. Analyst, with the package of 4.5lpa fixed + some yearly performance bonus. How should I expect me to be my career graph in pwc? Promotions, work culture, work life balance, basically any kind of insight will be appreciated.
THANKS A TON, IN ADVANCE.

You’re not getting a promotion. This question is irrelevant
My coach submitted the request already and my RP is supportive. I have seen multiple mid year promotions in my practice
I've been at PwC for 13 years and have never heard of a mid year promotion... Maybe different groups are different, but I don't think this is common practice. Many years ago, I DID get a raise sometime during the year (off cycle) cuz the practice did a comp review and a few people were being underpaid. This was like 8 years ago though, so I don't think that happens much anymore.
It used to be - a long time ago - relatively common in some Assurance and perhaps Tax teams to Senior Associate, particularly with Associates who were December grads and started in January though in general we do less of those mid year starts now. It’s certainly never been common in Advisory.
But if OP’s RP says it’s possible then it likely is; likelihood I can’t speak to.
Mid year promos do occur but outside of IFS, they’re rare. I’d be surprised if more than 10-20 got them mid year in the US and would need an amazing business case. If this is realistic in OP’s case, their RP should be advocating for them already and providing some sense of likelihood.
But yes, salary adjustments take effect the day of the rank change. They are never separated.
Agree - never seen or heard of a mid year promotion. Unless anyone on FB wants to speak up here that it happened to them.
Lol not happening
Do you mind sharing which practice? I would think the amount of mid year promotions has tended towards zero with the implementation of the cohort model
