With the current political climate, I’ve noticed a few big brands (like Southwest and Walmart) recently scrapping their DEI programs. I’m curious, is this a return to the old days when diverse directors were only allowed to work in niche markets? It seems like white directors can do both general market and niche market work, while diverse directors are limited to niche markets. The question is, is graduation from law school, not minimum competency? With this line of reasoning we are saying that law schools do not produce competent future lawyers, so should we instead switch to a system of taking the bar without the three years of a measure that frankly bar associations have deemed not an adequate measure?
