Most companies that care about international tax will have their own international tax group or a tax counsel group. It’s possible to transition in-house and back to PA (depending on level).

like

Thats great! In house would actually be a dream to me for certain corporations. Thanks for your answer!

There’s lots of exit ops. It’s not always easy to get the coveted spots as there’s lots of competition and timing has to be key.

You can also look for law firm gigs after a few years in PA.

like

I think the experience will always be helpful. Law firms tend to discount the experience but that’s fine. I chalk that more to hours worked in the year rather than a view of quality. You tend to know more as you do more. (I think that’s why there can be such a big disparity between the two).

It’s not easy to convince a law firm that your skills are readily transferable but people do it successfully all the time.

Transfer pricing is a growing field for tax attorneys. Lots of new rules and increased scrutiny.

While my job is kick ass right now and I’m enjoying it, just the sheer hours and difficulty make me look forward to the day I can get out of here and maybe go back to big4.

I currently work at a medium sized firm and have about two years experience in personal injury litigation. The billable hours and lack of work life balance are really getting to me and I am looking to switch to something else out of litigation, preferably in house. Question! I just moved(transferred) to another team of my company and received new title, graphic & creative services. I was a senior graphic designer at the previous team. What do you think about my new title? I know that title is not a big thing but why I feel like my title is downgraded here… Good thing is my jobs here at my current team are what I really wanted to do. This is amazing. I love my new team and people here! Super healthy working environment! But just curious about the title.

im not confident in the accuracy of my work.
