Hi all. I am trying to determine if I am being compensated fairly. I am a tax manager (about to start my second year as manager) and have been with EY since staff 1. I was promoted to manager in June 2020 (during covid) and received a 7.5% raise. The class above me has mentioned they received much higher raises during their promotion years. My base salary is now approx. 97K. Any insights would be extremely helpful. Thanks!

That’s a pretty huge increase. Only you can quantify how bad the impact is.
Unless you're married (or in a similar, long term committed relationship), don't put that ahead of your career. Also, what does "may require travel" mean?
Work is not my main interest but pay bump is nice
They say it can be weekly travel but some projects are remote
Take it, and then take vacations with your partner.
I guess it depends on how long you plan to stay at this company - if it’s a short term stint, traveling will still be challenging but having a specific deadline (e.g. two years) will give you and your partner something to look forward to. It also won’t be this indefinite wall in your relationship
My girlfriend and I have been doing long distance for about a year so that she could work abroad, and she’s coming back home in a few months. We knew ahead of time that this would a short term situation. Planning for that made it a little easier and made the trips to see other really awesome
How much travel and what are the actual comp numbers? 75->108 with M-Th weekly travel probably wouldn’t be worth it for me.
200->290 with monthly travel is a no brainer.
Worth it
That’s what she said
