"Companies" are too big to make macro changes just because they want to. It is up to individual leaders like us to educate ourselves on potential inherent biases like these so that we can take a step back and truly scrutinize how best to shape our team and who to promote. Nobody can solve the world's troubles all at once, and you can't control what others do. But you can control what you do and put out as much good as you can. Just make sure you are being truly fair and impartial - sometimes it's not bias that causes people to be held back, it's truly their personal capabilities
I'm sure those biases exist, and I can think of a few examples, as I imagine anyone could. But all we can do is address it at our own company, or even in our own departments. The thing about stereotypes is that once they take hold it's difficult to shake them, so it's good to make a conscious effort to be sure to treat people fairly.
