Search past threads - it’s biological and you’re brain is prioritizing what’s important right now and pruning what is not i.e. keeping an infant alive, not handwriting and slide decks. Give yourself time and grace as you transition back to work, it takes time to adjust and get into new routines with the added responsibility of being a mom.
How long has it been since you gave birth? These things take time. You just have birth to an ACTUAL LIVE HUMAN . What an accomplishment! Women should be able to take it a bit easy and give themselves grace after. I tried to get ahead on as much as I could before maternity leave and leave detailed notes for myself and the team to ease the transition. Support for working moms returning to the workforce is abysmal 😰
On a separate note, I know someone overwhelmed who had to take a few months leave of absence after birth. I made sure she had a "buddy" on her team to catch her up on her return, and told her not to feel guilty! Babies are a huge responsibility. I'm sure you're doing great 😊
