More experienced PwCers: I'm an associate who got a top rating and a large raise during CRTs. How scared do I need to be about getting laid off?
Is anyone else having a hard time getting motivated to keep up with the rat race now that we're working from home? I'm in a promotion year and honestly I'm feeling so disconnected from everything that I can't bring myself to put in the work right now. Anyone else in the same boat?
Senior Promotion 🎉😊 Good Luck FB fam trying for one! (P.S.: when does the official communication come out?)
If I want to apply to FDD is it worth waiting till my promotion goes into effect in July (promo to S1)? I’ve heard the job market is really good and am afraid of missing out.
How much room for negotiation is there on role level when moving to MBB as a lateral? Currently M2 at a boutique founded by ex-MBB partners. We often compete with MBB. Recruiters at each firm have steered me towards joining at Associate (M) /Consultant (BB) level which I believe is common practice for lateral moves. This would likely result in a small pay cut for me, even at A3/C3. All have suggested a 6-12 month window to Manager promotion is possible. Would appreciate some advice, thanks!
Yeah I checked some people in the performance tool.. wtf..some people who don't deserve it got the promotion..and this ONE guy I know for 100% sure should have been promoted and didn't..wtf????
Got passed up on a promotion from Sr. Mgr. to Assoc. Partner (tier 2 strategy consulting firm). Pros/cons on sticking it out for another gruelling yr vs. jumping to another cons. firm vs. industry?
How is it possible Partners ignore performance data to promote and are seemingly never held accountable for when their promotion doesn’t pan out?
Advice needed. I’m supposed to be up for senior this year. I was informed by my counselor that promotion is still on the table however since my technical knowledge isn’t where it should be in order to be promoted I need to show significant improvement before year end in order to be promoted. Should I start looking for another job?
Hi everyone- does anyone have insight into the promotion structure at EY, specifically the SaT FDD group? Is it common to make Manager after two years of being a Senior? TIA
I have been with my company for about 2 years almost now and i recently switched teams and have been crushing it for about 5 months. When should I tell my new bosses I’m ready for a promotion?
I asked for a big raise and just got it!! 🙌🏻
Would you go from a brand name consulting company to a boutique. Assume the raise is going to be about $40k in base, firm won't match. Would also have to move from a low cost city to New York City.
So I was interviewed for a job opportunity. Let’s say they give me an offer and didn’t like it - How do I reject it without burning that bridge?
How do you define work-life balance? And how much of that balance is reasonable to expect for someone with ~2 YOE, be that in the Big 4 or in smaller niche/boutique firms?
At what point is it considered optimal to make the jump from Big4 to FAANG? I've been a Tech Consultant at EY for a little under a year and, while I like the company very much, I do very little actual technical work. Experienced hire, Senior, 130k base. I'm very tempted to jump over to Amazon (despite their reputation for frugality). Do I attempt to make the switch now or wait until I get promoted to Manager?
PwC - QS (tax group) - can someone speak more to this group? Hours expectations? Compensation? Is it pigeonholing my career or are there decent exit opps?
Post interview follow-up emails -- looking for advice. I don't want to sound too generic, nor do I want to sound too intrusive. (It's for a smaller PE firm). TIA.
Current moms, how do you make this career work with children? Putting off having a baby because I love my job and just can’t imagine how to do both.
Anyone been through HireRight and can answer a quick question. Do they verify internships? I have 4 YOE and have an intern title from years ago that may come up as off (i.e. Risk Management Intern vs. Finance Intern) Will this be a huge flag? Should I proactively tell HR?
Remote Director, AR 7+ yrs collections/AR SaaS HQ in CO Netsuite $110-125k plus benefits
Should I roll over my 401k to my new employer or put in an IRA? What things should I consider?
What percentage do you contribute to 401k?
Anyone working at DHG in their tax group care to share their experience? Thinking about leaving a b4 for it and want to hear what people think
Any insight into IBB consulting? They are a media boutique that was acquired by Accenture so NOT mbb
New Account Director here. Had 2+ years of supervisor experience prior. Any tips as I transition to this new role? What key things make the positions different? Would love to hear from all disciplines
I’ve already hit annual spend for AA gold but need about 7700 EQMs (only at 15 EQS so that won’t cut it). Based on research a $400 flight is least expensive way to hit Gold. Worthwhile?
Getting an desi nanny for baby. She wants to be paid in cash. How can I show it in tax? These people.. I tell you. Anyone had similar experience. What did you do?
I know that influencers aren't a concept. But can I still use influencers as part of the execution to raise awareness?
What type of exits are possible out of Finance Transformation consulting? I’m a recent grad and am really doubting my decision to start out in consulting. Not at MBB or Big4 but from a top 20 school
BOS - to whomever decided that summer time was the best time for runway construction.... I hope your shoes get stuck in the cement.
6th year corporate associate at a regional firm and debating between the following options: 1) Staying at my current firm and making partner in about two years. I know I will make partner if I stay. 1800 Billables. I like the idea of being about to bring in clients and see my compensation rise by my own efforts though I realize it's stressful. 2) Switching to a larger firm to increase my compensation for a couple of years. 3) Going in house because I hate the stress of billables. Any thoughts ?
