I recently received an offer for an entry level (new college grad) role at a FAANG in the Bay Area for Product design.

The initial ‘standard’ comp they gave was hourly, for 125k annual salary, 10k stock, 10k sign on bonus, 10k relo, and I plan to live in San Francisco.

Just wondering if this is something I should negotiate at all, or if I should just sign with the initial offer they gave?

Anyone ever fly out of JFK early in the morning? I’m going on vacation Saturday to Aruba and usually give myself an hour and a half out of LGA. Haven’t flown out of jfk since before the pandmic. Are the lines for luggage long (Jet Blue) and how are the security lines? Is getting there at 430 am for a 630 am flight reasonable?

Has anyone flew out of ORD in the last few days? How is the airport, security lines, etc.?

Big tech is making its presence known in the ATL! Microsoft is here , Amazon! I had the opportunity to interview for two related roles at Microsoft, interview went absolutely great or as I thought lol. Didn’t get the role. 3 months later , found out somebody internally got the job. I don’t feel as bad but I still hope to work for one of those major companies sooner than later . I didn’t have a referral, I applied online.

I had a trip to Las Vegas and couldn’t go because I found out I had covid right before the flight (international flight). Got my negative test two weeks ago and I have a flight to Medellin this Thursday but I have been in clubs and rooftops these last two weeks.

Anyone else remember when Uber (or Lyft) were faster, cheaper, cleaner, and better vehicles than cabs?

Now, in the time it takes to walk from C gates to cab line the app still can't figure out I'm back at ORD, an UberX is over $70, or a black over $100.

It will take 15 min to get a car (8 min according to the app) and it will be a dirty Toyota Corolla

Meanwhile there is no one in the cab line and in a crossover with much more space for $50

I just passed a phone screening for a Jr implementation specialist wfh role in San Francisco. (Fintech)

The HR manager and I had an amazing conversation and was very forthcoming with information.

I now have an interview w/ either the hiring manager and/or team.

I've heard that if you get past the screening, it shows they already want to hire you. Just doing ✔️ and balances for a culture fit.

Any tips for this? I have already done extensive research on the company and culture.

What is a good salary for a Visual Designer (medium sized company) in San Francisco with 3 years experience?

I'm considering a new dept policy: no more using Slack to share or review deliverables.

Ideal: discuss live on a call.

Acceptable: use a platform like Dropbox or Box where markup on the document is possible and comments are attached directly to the work instead of floating aimlessly in a sea of chat msgs.

Looking to move from LA to ATL and stay with my current company. They are supportive of the transition, but I’m concerned about a comp adjustment since ATL might not be considered HCOL. Does any one have experience transferring offices within their company and keeping the same comp? How did you approach those conversations?

Just got my offer accepted for a house in San Jose. Shopping for interest rate now:
Should I got for
7ARM - 4.25% interest rate
30 fixed - 4.75 % interest rate

Banker is recommending 7ARM but wanted to get general opinion as well.
