That time when your partners start a utilization contest where for 2 weeks of crazy hours might get you a Starbucks gift card

Does everyone agree that utilization is a useless metric and should be ignored as long as you are making a reasonable effort to get off the bench.

How much does utilization factor into year end performance reviews for a BA? If I'm trying to qualify for GSAP is using my PTO even really an option?

95% +Utilization, got a 4 of 5. (no raise, no bonus). I was benched last year due to awaiting my clearance (missed utilization) and got a 3 of 5 with a raise and bonus.

Just got laid off.... 99% utilization and got promoted last year! No snapshots with anything below level, most at or partially above!!!

Caught a peak of the advisory utilization numbers...could see layoffs at KPMG as well. HUGE amount of 0% on the year with 0% forecast in retain. Also heard parts of RC just got reorganized at the top

Utilization director told me today that the layoffs won't affect me. My heart goes out to everyone that had to hear otherwise. Here's to hoping y'all find something better and prosper.

Looking at the way people are laid off, utilization is just one part of it. It's so hard to pin point what is (proper consultants let go from projects, etc..)

Why does Deloitte's utilization calculation take 52 weeks x 40 hrs as the denominator, what about firm holidays?

Ratings on three projects - 3,2,2. Utilization - 90%... Proposal hours - 15... Firm activities - 43 hrs... I then get a YE rating of 4 😕 ... How worried I should be regarding the layoffs???
