Got a random email from a supposed Amazon recruiter for a SDE position (which is not at all a fit). The email is amazon.com domain and there are no red flags in the body but it doesn't feel like an Amazon recruiter due to the tacky signature, etc. Has anyone seen this kind of cold-calling from FAANG recruiter?

Friend of mine won a Deloitte utilization award or something like that. She took zero vacation days and attended no training. Sounds like a dumb incentive system.
they removed PTO from our denominator last year thank god so fuckin stupid before
We do the same thing, but we back out firm holidays and "lost time" (i.e., early office closures) from the denominator. At my old firm, we also used to back out PTO from the denominator so that we didn't get punished for taking vacation. PwC says they don't do that because they believe they take vacation into account in setting utilization targets which is utter bullshit. Deloitte may be taking the same bullshit approach.
@KPMG1, thanks, now I have another reason I regret choosing Deloitte over KPMG lol.
Not talking about personal time off (vacation) but firm holidays such as Memorial Day
They claim (there's a link somewhere on DeloitteNet doing the math) that our generous utilization targets make it unnecessary (billing 45 a week, you come out above 90 if you take all your PTO and observe firm holidays…provided that you have no beach time of course).
Bill 45 hours a week, 25 days of PTO and 10 firm holidays leaves you with around 15 non-billable days to spare. Get 16 days....and kiss your 90% target goodbye unless you're willing to forego PTO, able to charge more than 45 hours or find a unicorn of an internal project that counts towards utilization
@D1. I think it's bullshit, uncaring corporate-speak too. Hence the use of "they" to separate myself from firm leadership
