Need some advice. I really like my team, agency and work life balance, but haven’t had anything portfolio worthy. The work is boring and doesn’t excite me.

I am actively interviewing and feel guilty for doing so. I know I can land a better opportunity and potentially be paid more.

What level of position should I be targeting when applying for roles client side if I’m an AS with 6-7 years of experience working on big name brands?

So, my AD and I just verbally accepted an offer for a new job, and are due to receive the written contract this week. In the mean time, another headhunter whom we were waiting on to set up an interview with a different opportunity got back to us. Is it worth waiting to have both offers on the table before choosing which ship to jump in to or should we just decline?

I received feedback after a values interview that I wasn't vulnerable enough. As a result they want me to come back to have a beer with the team and chat further outside of a formal interview environment.

How should I alleviate their concerns around my lack of vulnerability in this final stage of the process?

Freelancers, can I get some insight? I’ve only recently started working freelance thru recruiting agencies and I’m not as familiar with the process. I just heard from my recruiter that I am very likely getting a contract Art Director offer and she texted me asking if they could verbally accept the offer on my behalf. I feel rushed and idk how much I can push back. I have a first interview with my dream tech company later this week and I don’t want to put either opportunity in jeopardy—

Anyone have experience with Portfolio Recovery Associates (PRA Group)? I’m in the interview process, but I want to make sure that all the good things I hear are honest.

Any advice for getting a job out of college? I’m a recent graduate, but I have 4 years of experience as a freelancer doing every kind of marketing project for businesses of all sizes. I also have 6 months of experience as an intern at an agency, and 7 months as a copywriter at a boutique agency. I’ve had several great interviews at many large companies (right now I’m looking at joining an in-house team rather than going to another agency). But I’ve only had one job offer so far…HELP!

Been at a new job for a couple of months. Overall it’s been disappointing and I’m starting to feel anxiety for the future. I feel this way because I’ve just been working on one account I really don’t feel will create anything book worthy and I’m afraid that I will have nothing to show after a year. Is there a danger to interviewing at a different agency under the same holding company?

Should you disclose you’re pregnant while interviewing with agencies.. or kind of surprise them with it after accepting the offer.

Mixed feelings for the day. I think I’m getting an offer today but it’s from my 4th choice among places I’m currently interviewing at. I’ve been unemployed for a month and still deep in the running for 3 other roles that I prefer but competing with at least 2-3 other candidates. It’s weird that I feel more pressure now than when I didn’t have any interviews lined up. Here we go.

As part of my interview, I was asked to present 3-4 recent strategy decks I created to the CSO. When I balked at sharing potentially sensitive info to a competing agency, they said that I could “redact all client references in the decks.” Anyone else feel that this is an awkward situation?

if during an interview, the recruiter shares the budget for the role, but it’s lower than what you want, do you still continue with them in hopes you can negotiate higher?

Do you post on LinkedIn? I keep seeing people post lots about all the opportunities they got, like job interviews, freelance clients, speaking engagements, all thanks to posting regularly. But I can’t bring myself to do it. Constantly worried I might look “inauthentic” and someone will call me out for it or that I’ll just seem annoying. Do you have similar struggles? Do ad people even care about LinkedIn?

Which agencies have the fastest interview process?

Is this a 🚩. Got a great offer but the problem is that it says my manager is someone I never even met during the interview process. I immediately asked even tho I have the offer in hand if I could.

So I recently got approached by a recruiter from a comparable agency offering me around 10% more then what I currently make to do the same job. The thing is I love my current agency team, boss, and clients, but I have a sense that I’m getting paid less than expected for my experience/track record. Should I let my current boss know prior to going through the interview process to see if they will offer a raise or should I wait till I possibly receive a written offer and use that to bargain?

Advice for a Nike interview? Probably never wanted a job this badly before.

Hey y'all - TIME SENSITIVE question ab job offers/interviews. I received an offer today that wants me to decide by this Wednesday (6/8) @1PM EST, but I have 2nd round video interviews with 2 companies that may be a better fit tomorrow/wed. I know one of them (wed. interview) usually has a skills test/case study following that (and i dont think the other does but unsure). Is it worth emailing either/both to let them know ab the offer and see if i can accelerate the interview process? TIA!

*TIME SENSITIVE* Hi everyone! I recently received a job offer from Merkle (NYC based) for a Digital Media Planner role. However, I'm still in the interview process for quite a few other agencies/companies, a few of which could potentially be a better fit. I have until wed. 6/8 @ 1pm EST to give my final decision and I'm weighing my options. I'm looking for feedback/reviews about working at Merkle, both good AND bad - culture, WLB, advancement, salary negotiation receptivity, etc. TIA!!!

Interview question- if an hr person contacts you about a specific role, and during your first interview asks you your salary requirements, can you reply “well do you have a specific salary range associated with this job?” or something similar? Tired of the back and forth- just tell me why it pays!

Thoughts on the strengths of different ad schools’ copywriting tracks? I’m leaning toward applying to Denver Ad School, but it seems like it isn’t a Fishbowl favorite, despite their students’ books and the jobs they receive.

(1/2)Has anyone ever had their contract end early with no warning? I was hired as an “agile social designer” for a big box retailer as a freelancer. The gig posting said it was a couple months (until the end of june) but when I interviewed they said they were actually gonna extend me until next February. Anyways now they’re saying the whole agile team may be eliminated and I didn’t get any new work assigned this week… I’m kind of freaking out bc I thought I’d at least have until next month

Anyone know what insurance provider BBDO has? I’m in the process of interviewing with them and a couple other agencies. The recruiter sent me info around plans and stuff, but it does not include the insurance provider. I need to make sure my routine appointments are covered. Thanks!!

But nothing back ive updated my resume but nothing works ive started a small business clientele is super slow.
