I am 1 of 3 potential candidates for an
analyst role at TIAA and I was the last to
interview. They said they wanted to choose
quickly so if I interviewed last Wednesday
when should I expect to hear something
back if I'm getting an offer? I was thinking
maybe the end of this week?

I went through two rounds of interviews for
a job that the posting stated $36.66 per
hour (FP&A Analyst)…the company
recruiter had told me in the initial call the
pay could be 32-36 because of the other
benefits. If I do get a job offer what range
should I try for? I was really hoping to get
around the 36-40 but now I feel like they
may try to offer lower than what was
posted. Also there was no range but the
average for this position is upper 70s-90k.

I have given the first round of interview and expecting a call for the second round. Can anybody throw some light on the kind of questions for second round for an investment analyst position?

It been three months in my new role and I already feel like I downgraded myself from my previous job. What should I do? Has anyone come across this kinda situation in their career? In the interview, it sounded like I would learn a lot more and I asked them all sort of questions from data to reporting (public reporting), but now that I am in this role I don’t feel challenged and I don’t play a huge part in the reporting. What should I do?

Starting the interview process at a competitor and the people I will be interviewing with know my current team members just from being in the industry and I think some even used to work together. Does it go without being said that the people I am interviewing with won’t say anything to my current team members or should I be concerned about this?

Need some feedback. I interviewed with a Fintech company for an AML analyst role. I have had 2 interviews plus the phone screen. The interviews went great and the third interview went really well, the interviewer even told me that I would be a great fit for the team. I was expecting an offer, but it looks like they want me to interview again with another person. The pay for the role is $76-78K, is so many interviews normal ? any advice ?

I recently was offered $71,400 and countered at $75,000. Three days passed at at 2pm on Friday I get an email from the HR rep blackberry stating “How does $72,500 sound?”. We have a follow up call on Tuesday. Because it was in a question form I assume I can negotiate more. If they aren’t able to come up to $75k would you try for more PTO or a sign on bonus or guaranteed bonus? Something I don’t think they’d go for. I had two interviews.

Hi, what can I expect from a final Partner interview (consultancy) at KPMG? The role is Financial modelling.

Excel tests. Been in a few finance roles, not traditional FP&A and hadn’t had to take Excel test in interviews. Nothing really advanced IMO. Actively applying and noticing some postings where it explicitly states there will be an Excel test. For hiring managers that make candidates do a test: What are some common things you want candidates to know? I have no idea if they want to run a data set that can be solved with a pivot table or do a financial model.

. Hey ya’ll. Need advice. I was part of recent layoffs. I’ve been asked to return. Same pay and I will not be eligible for raises since the role is new. I’m also now an IC instead of a leader of leaders. My goal is to get to VP in the next two years. I’ve also had some great interviews and expect offers next week. I have until Tuesday to decide. How would you all go about making the decision?

Just applied to the "Corporate Banking Summer 2023 Analyst" role at the Bank of America. Do you know how the interview process is there and what do you think as a most sought after skills for that role? My Excel skills are almost advanced (apart from VBA) I know other parts. Currently preparing for CFA level 1 and have a previous six months of internship experience in a tech industry. Based on this what are the odds of being considered for this position or any such a position?

I have an interview at Salesforce for a senior project controller position. What can I expect in the first of 3 interviews? I don’t expect it to be crazy, but I’d rather be prepared as much as I can.

Did 3 panel interviews at Discover Financial Services for the Sales Account Executive role and felt the TC package was too low. Salary at $70K with annual bonuses at 25% with. $5K one-time sign on bonus. I made the case that my experience and education was far more than even the preferred criteria on the job description, and over 3x of the minimum qualifications. The recruiter is now thinking of two other roles for me:
Lead, Program Marketing
Lead Field Solutions Representative

I graduated in 2021 with a BSBA focused in investment analysis. I took a job in financial services not knowing what I was getting myself into. I quickly realized that my interests and education are being severely underutilized. I have a goal to break into FP&A in the near future, but every interview i’ve had leaves me feeling under qualified. Very curious, am I missing a step in terms of entry roles? How can I leverage my service experience and education to land a position like this?

I just finished the final round interview for a manager role in compliance tech for a multi-tril bank.

For some reason I blanked on a technical SQL question.

I plan on sending a routine ‘Thank You’ email to the interviewers, but in the email should I include the answer to the technical SQL question?

Hey!! Is it normal practice with Morgan Stanley to reach out to a candidate and schedule the interviews and then cancel because they filled the role? They are probably doing me a favor!!!

I put in my two weeks at my company and now they want to talk to me regarding my exit interview responses... is this normal? Should I be concerned, or is this them actually trying to do better and fix what is broken?

1. Would really love some insight on my current situation. Recently had an offer from UBS to join their Training Financial Advisor program in the city I am looking to move back to and figured this was my lucky break — I’d be able to leave a company with very serious internal problems and also be able to provide more value to my clients. About a week and a half ago, UBS rescinded my offer. I left my position shortly after as I was very distraught and wanted to dedicate more energy to applying.

Has anyone taken a more junior role in investment banking to prove themselves to a higher caliber firm with the intent on them hiring you and promote you once they see your capabilities? Currently have a 1 YOE experience at a boutique investment bank and just did 3 interviews at a bulge bracket but failed to make it pass the last one due to the firm going with another Candidate
