So I’m a second year consultant. Like most, I was disappointed with compensation this year and am pretty bearish on my future earning potential here. I’m currently interviewing with a big tech company (not FAANG but close) for a position with substantially higher pay as a business analyst. I really wanted to stay til SC/M but the money is too good to pass up. I guess my question is: are there any major downsides to exiting to industry “too early?” Has anyone done it and regretted it?

What is the role equivalent of second year Deloitte SC at KPMG? What is the salary range?

Anyone have thoughts about taking a post production workday SC role at Alight? I’m in interviews and excited but don’t know much about them. Tired of working extra and not getting anything for it. Not sure I want to stay in IMPL space for much longer. Enhancement/post production support seems interesting.

Folks - thinking of exiting in 5+ months from now. I have over 10+ years global exp in SC, 3+ Consulting exp and currently a Manager, MBA from M7 school. Need advice on how should I start thinking of exit options. I want to join some product based company (read, non software but good with Tech given my SC backrgound) either in growth (series a or b) or PE backed firm. Open to locations. Retail seems to be my best bet but with Amazon in play, no retail company appears to have great future.

What’s the deal with getting promoted during GC process? I am currently a C but up for SC next year (sept) if it goes through. If I file my GC as a C this year but get promoted to SC next year, do I need to start over? Conversely, if I file GC with future position (SC) but not make my promo, will I get screwed?

What should I expect in a Deloitte technical interview for a Senior Consultant role?

Interview for SC role at Protiviti...want 125 to 135K range. Is this possible? Seems like they offer salary much lower than big 4 (based on Glassdoor).

Was extended an offer for SC position at a smaller consulting firm. Originally asked for 130K base, offer given was closer to ~110K base with ~10K in performance bonus. When countering with desired 125K base, due to other opportunities, base was raised to 115K. Would be happier with 120K base, but is it worth pushing for?

Would you interview for a position you feel you’re under qualified for? I have been a senior consultant of strategy at Interbrand for about a year now. I have a total of 5 years experience working in branding/advertising. I received a recruiter InMail last week regarding a strategy director role at a smaller branding agency. The job seems interesting and challenging and I’m def intrigued by the opportunity and title bump but I feel like I am not ready to take on the director role yet. Continued.

🐠 fam, looking for some advice. Currently an SC making 100k. What type of exit opportunities do people usually leave for? I saw someone leave as a senior consultant and moved into a director role in industry. Is this a common transition?

Do title really matter that much for Exit Ops? Have an offer for SC at Guidehouse. Currently BA at Deloitte. Currently at 3 YOE. (Was an EH with 1 YOE). I only ask because I have a friend I advisory that’s SC with the same YOE, however, she was hired with 3 YOE

I interviewed with Deloitte for a SC role back in April and received a verbal offer since there was a hiring freeze. Every time I've reached out, HR is quick to respond that they're committed to making me an actual offer once hiring within that team opens back up. However, I just received an offer from a smaller firm I've been interviewing with. I would much rather work at Deloitte but would it be silly to wait around with nothing but a verbal offer in my pocket? Currently employed.

I’ve been in my role as a SC for the better part of 3 years, watching my peers and even some more recent hires make the jump to Manager. I have lots of quality experience as an Engagement Manager, and I have a very in demand skill set for my area. I’ve even taken over the role of a previous EM (billing at a band above me) while still billing as an SC for most of 2020.
