Are senior consultants at Deloitte functioning in a project manager capacity and supervising their teams? I have an offer but I’m honestly not understanding the difference between a C, SC, and M role. Of course I know it depends a lot on the engagement. But generally speaking...what do you see as the SC role on a team?

I’m an experienced hire SC and a PPMD just staffed me on a staff aug role that I don’t want to do instead of staffing me on one that used my unique skill set. Feeling super sad going into another staff aug for 1+ yr not doing what I want to when I have 5+ YOE. Any words of encouragement? I just joined the firm...

Feeling behind in life. Third year SC at 35 almost 36 (in the enabling model so have to wait until a M position opens on my team to apply). No clue what I want to do as a career long term despite years of research and info interviews. No money to go back to school. Unmarried. No kids. No marketable skills. Grateful I'm employed but conscious I got not much else going for me. Womp.

Looking to explore opportunities in Federal. USC but no SC. 15+ years in consulting, MBA from Top Tier. Anyone hiring in Federal practices and can refer me? Also any specific job sites for Federal related jobs? TIA.

What’s a fair market hourly rate for a consultant (contract role)? A recruiter asked me what my hourly rate is for an M&A contracting role. Assume the title would be Consultant / Senior Consultant (i.e. 3-4 years of work experience).

Any advice for an SC hoping to exit from tech strategy consulting to a Product Manager role? A lot of companies refuse to hire folks without prior PM experience so where can one get a foot in the door? Are there other tangential industry roles where I can build relevant skills that will make me a good PM? Any insight/ advice is much appreciated!

McKinsey 🐠, a few questions about the Specialist roles - how is the specialist track viewed compared to the generalists and would a SC/Manager (currently at Deloitte) be competitive? Saw an open position that I was interested, but no idea if I’m competitive for it or not. Only have 1.5 years in consulting, but 10 years in DoD/government. TIA!

I am a SC in Deloitte with 12 years of work ex. Amazon recruiter has reached out to me for a Sr. TPM role. I have already cleared HM round. My doubt is as I have heard work culture in Amazon is crazy. Would it be better for me to go for a TPM role instead of Sr. TPM. Not sure how the responsibilities differ between the two roles

Ok. I got an offer for a “senior consultant” role at this ~75 person company. They offered me $115k base and I’d actually like to be at 130. I want to just ask if there’s room for an additional 15k in the base. I don’t want to qualify my reasons why. Tell me why I should approach it differently or if this will be fine. I figure the worse they’ll say is “no”.

I’m a SC from a big 4, will soon enter my fifth year, I have a background in IT audit and solutions/ERP. Really burnt out by the internal firm work (proposals, etc) and the low pay(homegrown). Looking for a more specialized position I can grow into elsewhere. I know I have a lot to bring to the table, but not quite sure what roles would fit me. I’m Currently a consultant (technologist, lowest level) at Booz Allen looking to go to Accenture at the next level up since I’m due for a promotion Jan 1 (I think for Accenture this is the consultant level which is the same as senior consultant at Booz). Deloitte OCM laid off consultants and analysts. A recruiter contacted me about a position that listed Deloitte OCM methodology and ChangeScout experience as a plus. It is a contractor to hire position that can be remote now and into the future. The rate is too low for me and it seems@more on target at the analyst to SC level. DM me for Deets.
