Where the hell do we apply after 3 years as tech consultants at a big 4? I feel overqualified for a senior analyst position in the industry, but often times under-qualified for the manager level.

Almost a senior in Risk Assurance (soon to be Risk Advisory) I have a pretty solid in at a FAANG company as a Deal Analyst. Should I try to make the jump? I generally dislike my current work but it feels like going a little backward to take an analyst role. But I feel like I could also be pretty successful outside of SOX work. It seems like if I am going to jump I should do it now before I am in compliance forever. Anyone have any advice ?

Does anyone have experience in leaving for an internal controls role? From my experience, it seems as if there is not a lot of these positions out there. I am wondering if I were to take a Senior IC analyst role I would be limiting my opportunities to exit/advance.

Looking at an Associate Manager role at Accenture. Is it equivalent to a Specialist Senior at Deloitte? Is it really worth the switch?

Looking at a Senior role for a startup that been around about 10yrs and is profitable. It’s equal to a EVP in other orgs as it reports into a Chief X Officer. They’re saying comp is low 2’s for base, bonus is $20K and equity is options. Current cash comp is about $300K/yr. thoughts?!.....

Literally feel stuck without my CPA! I currently work as corporate accountant and have 3 years of public accounting experience specializing in governmental and not-for-profit accounting.

There is not a senior level accounting position for me to move into at my current company and with 4.5 years of experience I feel like I need to move to a senior level to gain some supervisory skills. It seems without my CPA, finding a senior accountant position making 80k/year is not realistic. What can I do?

Wanted to get everyone’s thoughts on this short term vs long term decision; currently I’m a consultant making 100k. Friend just got a job offer from another competitor for 150k senior consultant . I won’t hit senior until summer 24. My thought process is when I hit senior in 2 year I can apply for a manger role elsewhere for more. Should I follow suit as my friend and run or stay the course?

I’m completely failing as acting senior. I’m a new associate (<6 months exp.) and I’ve been placed in this pseudo acting senior role since a few members of our team left. I find myself dropping the ball in a near daily basis now that we’re approaching end of year. Hello…looking for opinions on my situation. I applied for a senior sales position in a completely different industry (stretch target, but worth a try.) The job responsibilities are what I do today so I’m qualified on paper, but their industry experience is “preferred”. I’ve been invited to interview which is great but I’m going straight into a 4-person panel Zoom interview, which includes a couple of senior management people. No BS HR screening call. What’s are your thoughts on this?

Hi there. I am currently going through the stages of negotiating my salary. I moved from a senior customer service role into an operations and training role about a year ago. Upon getting this role I asked for a wage review at 6months, this never occurred, then at my yearly review raised again and then was told I should go for a raise, ended up being given the award increase that I was entitled to not a “raise”
Now I have followed this up again and want advice on ensuring i wont be dismissed

Currently a senior accountant at a small company doing the monthly close financial process. Got two offers, one as a senior cost accountant and one as a senior financial analyst. Both similar comp and at great companies that have 10,000 or more employees. I’ve been wanting to get experience in both cost accounting and financial analysis.

Which role would be the smartest move based off the titles?

Has anyone here successfully negotiated a salary? (Banking/Finance). How did you do it and do you have any advice or tips? For example, you look up the title of your position on Glassdoor and it shows a much higher salary (20-30% higher) for a fairly large sample size n=>20. It’s also a mid level/senior position. Not entry level and also, youre an extremely good/candidate

What are folks' thoughts about taking a Senior PgM role at a pre - IPO SaaS company? I am interested in the firm; it’s got good leadership, and the pay is solid. Just wondering if I could pivot back to consulting if I don’t end up enjoying being on the other side. I've been a career consultant, so I don’t know what it’s like on the other side.

How do you stay interested in your role for 4+ years? I'm only a senior associate but I find myself getting bored of my role quite frequently

Here’s the question…
Stay in my current Product Manager role at General Motors (avg salary, not learning/progressing PdM space, good wlb, lots of work but lots of politics, messy process and conflicts with other teams) OR move into a Senior PdM at Mapbox (higher salary, RSUs, unknown culture, unknown wlb, etc.). Mapbox is intriguing because I feel like it will help me grow as a product manager, but I’m a little worried this may be “grass is greener on other side” scenario.

Hi folks. I'm a Senior Account Manager at Microsoft, 10 YOE working with board level stakeholders to onboard workloads. AWS approached me for a Customer Solutions Manager role which is exactly what I do for Microsoft. The hiring manager sent a team member who turned my interview into a technical deep dive. I'm not a Cloud Solutions Architect! Question... Is it normal for AWS to send the tech police to non tech interviews? The guy might as well been a robot.
