There really shouldn’t be changes in salaries. Agencies are still billing clients the same. The only way a writer might get a lower salary than he or she would normally command is if they had to settle for a less senior position.
NYC, 8 years exp, freelance, last staff role was 150k in 2015, I’ve been floated 110k for a perm role recently like GTFO
Sr writer, in house studio in New York, $97K.
There def won’t be bonuses or merit raises this year on our end
2 years exp, NYC at 68k
$120k, in-house, LA. I was really lucky and transitioned from contract to full time right at the start of the pandemic. By the time I had my new hire orientation, we were starting to WFH.
I am!
CW, 4 years, 100K in NYC. Also on a raise freeze. Not sure if you’ll have to settle for less like CD1 said above, but I know many friends who had to take a 10% pay cut as agencies buckled down for COVID.
I’d ask for the pre-COVID salary you want and then let them tell you where they’re at.
Yeah i was at 70k when I had 4 years'experience, and am at 105k now as a senior - 100k is def high for a mid level, even in NYC. Good for you, CW1!
30-40% lower
No. Do not do this. That’s dumb af ACD 1
one year of experience + master's degree, pharma, 73k nyc. they announced no bonuses for this year.
Still riding on this reduced pay at my shop. But I’d say salaries are a bit lower all around and they can be with so many applicants per position
