I turned 28 and my career has been lacking in any advancement or achievement. I look at how folks here or on linkedin are progressing much quicker. I am not worried about the compensation aspect, but am worried that I am not good enough.

I have been repeatedly told that it’s not an issue about ability just lack of luck. I feel like I am making excuses for my shortcomings. It’s a constant source of insecurity.

How do you know if a career is not it for you?

Have fantastic work-life balance currently at my firm. I log-in @9am and am off by 5:15pm everyday; no weekends.
The issue is my comp is only 107k w/ 4 years of experience. I feel underpaid when I see/ read what folks are making on this app.

Is a $60K base salary with a $30/billable rate or $100K flat salary better? Assuming 80-90% utilization for both. There are other variables of course, but in terms of salary alone, which would you take?

Feeling strong growth in my current role (several promotions < 2y) but can't help but wonder what's out there. There's absolutely nothing wrong with the job - people are great, wlb is above average for the industry, and there's a strong path to AP relatively soon as compared to big 4.

Is it weird to think about exploring? Believe it or not, for what I do, MBB comp below AP isn't really THAT much better, but MBA sponsorship is attractive.

I don't want to go to industry, pace is too slow...

What comp are most consultants getting with 5-7 YOE nowadays? Assuming you started out of undergrad

Has anyone successfully negotiated their sign on bonus or any other debt with the collection company? I never got a call from my company but received a letter from collection company to pay back 30k sign on because I left in less than a year.

Contemplating a career switch into consulting as I want to go non-technical. I don't want to pay 250k for ivy league MBA. I have a MS in computer engg from a top 5 engineering school. 7YOE at a top 3 semiconductor as ML/AI engineer.

I can get 300+ maybe up to 400-450k TC in FAANG but not liking technical stuff anymore.

Do you think aiming for MBB for a Management Consulting[tech domain] role is a stretch given I have no consulting background? What kind of compensation can I expect?

Have an offer to join startup with ~20 people, ~$30M valuation. Total cash comp is $150k but I can decide how much I want to be base comp and how much is variable. Also $50k equity over 4 years. No signing bonus. Here's the thing, I have 24 hours to respond then they will offer to next on list and whoever signs first gets it.

Current comp is $135k + 10-30% bonus + $80k equity over 4 years. I feel there's a ton of upside in the startup but am really put off by the acceptance timeline. Thoughts?

What is the salary range for a transfer pricing SA in NY?

Could someone please give me a realistic picture of the take home salary distribution for Junior Partner -> Partner -> Senior Partner at MBB?

For Junior Partner, I read that base is ~250k and take home is ~400k. Is this true? I guess I'm just surprised since MBB associates are getting hired at 190k base, so I assumed Junior Partner base would be much higher.

For Partner and Senior Partner I really have no idea. Would really appreciate any realistic estimates!

What questions do you ask during the offer process? Should you always negotiate? What else do you ask for (holiday plans, pushing back start date for a break, signing bonus, etc)? And how long to take before giving them a final answer? Thanks!

Looking at People Team roles at Palo Alto Networks. Can anyone tell me about the different levels (e.g. is a partner equivalent to a consultant at other companies, can M/SM successfully land Director role) and relative base comp?

How much does title mean to you? I personally don’t care as long as the compensation is appropriate for what I’m doing

Do you guys still get paid working over your usual salaried hours? Like as long as I can get billable hours I get paid for all those hours. For example if I commute to a client site or even work 12 hours at a client site I can still get paid my hourly rate.
