Chief
100 flat easily.
Why introduce variable for an extra potential 10-12k when it could also swing to less?
Roughly the same expected amounts but one would be fully guaranteed.
Thanks this is interesting! What if the one with variable comp is better in terms of opportunities?
You get 60 base + $30/billable??
Yeah I tried to negotiate the base to be higher but they wouldn't budge
I have a similar comp package. With a 30 bill rate you will always get paid. However to make 100k salary just working nothing else its taking you 80+ hours a week to get a similar pay. However op be aware picking the ladder of 100k you might work more. The 100k flat sounds good to me.
I see thanks, I was calculating around 108K for a 40-hr work week with the 60K + 30 bill rate, so perhaps my math was off.
Interesting. Breakeven at ~64% utilization. How is the 30 paid? Bonus or would you have variable pay checks?
This is my exact dilemma haha, thanks. Working with the variable rate company I'd have more visibility and after a few projects would be able to enter the practice of where I'd really like to be in about a year due to their relationships. The 100K company is more of a startup so there's also a risk there in some capacity.
I’d take the 30 billable and do 60 hrs a week
Thanks, understood.
