I personally feel like everyone is allowed to choose their religions and should be able to take off as needed. M/SM and above, why do you label a meeting as “touch point” or ask if you can have a “quick chat” when it’s something serious? Millennials like us always assume we’re about to get fired - I actually have been laid off in a meeting with that title. But at my new job, my boss asked for a “quick chat” to literally ask me to change the title of a meeting and then chat about christmas. Now that I’m in management, I want to understand it better.

I am leaving consulting after 7~ years. 2+Y in my current firm.
The goods: Generally young talented people, global though leaders, international collaboration and a brand in my cv.
The bads: Distributed ownership with short-term vision in the business units, we would enage any project in any client as long as it counts for the partner. And we would use the margin as an input, not as a result, so we would be forced to understaff projects so numbers look good. Politics and promises that never came

I have IBM offer of 18 LPA in hand (accepted)
And recently got a better offer 21 LPA in hand.

I’m my partners only associate and I went on parental leave two weeks ago. I feel horrible for leaving him to handle our cases alone, but am trying to focus on my wife and new baby. That being said, should I still offer to handle minor matters that come in to ease the workload off my boss? He’s been super cool during my entire leave, so I don’t feel pressured to one bit.

A Deloitte recruiter told me that I will be getting 9.1 LPA + 10% variable + 80K joining bonus from Deloitte USI. Considering the fact that I am working in IBM India with a technically sound team and that I got promoted a few weeks back only, will it be a good decision to join Deloitte and leave IBM?

9.1 LPA is basically a 30% hike over my existing CTC and I am not sure if Deloitte actually gives a joining bonus and variable component.
