What's the deal with severance pay in New York State? I've heard both it's not required and I've heard it's required to pay 3 weeks for every year of employment. Anyone know what the real deal is?

At your agency, has there been any announcement for 2021 about permanent going back to the office or permanent remote?
Started a new job a few months ago (remote for now). I'd consider myself a friendly person, but it's been really tough fitting in. I can't seem to get in on the camaraderie. And even worse, it seems like my CD and I are always on the wrong page/he seems unhappy with my work, my comments and even my questions. Trying my best here. Working long hours, but...I'm at a loss. Has anyone successfully settled into a job while remote? I sincerely welcome advice here.

Is Pharma/Health that bad and is the money that much better?
Convince me why I shouldn't move over to the client side.
Caught wind through internal network that we didn’t win a pitch. It was informal. How to handle? Wait until client gets back to us? Send note blindly to somehow intercept this? Lost cause? Thoughts?

Just got the bill from a hospital visit two weeks ago (we woke up to a miscarriage, our “nurse-on-call” said to call 911 immediately since the bleeding was so extreme and not clotting, and had to have an emergency D&E at the hospital) $21,000....!!! And the bill says “Payment due upon receipt” with no other information. Luckily we have insurance, they just filed it wrong but HOLY HELL! I’m honestly shocked.. I knew our healthcare system was bad but this is just unacceptable.
Received an offer from EY Australia- I'm currently on H1b here, I don't have any ties to the US but not sure if moving to Australia is the right choice. Anyone have any reviews?

Hi All, I have 5+ years of work ex with a consulting firm in NY and my total TC was around 180k. But I quit my job last month due to terrible work life balance. Fortunately I received a new offer at Amazon of Program Manager in Seattle with a total comp of 120k. I am confused if I should accept it or of it is too much of a step down. Thoughts?
During the Public Sector CRTs, each of us should have seen a base salary range (min, avg, and max). Any idea if this range includes salary data from part-time employees?
Had a second round interview with the head of product at a startup. The conversation went great. She let me know the exact names of the people she wanted me to meet with after her (cont.)

Has anyone else found themselves working in blocks of time while they’re working at home? Sitting at my home office just seems asinine if I’m not 100% busy.
