How does one get experience managing a team if no one will hire me to a position managing a team? I’ve been an HR Director department of one.
GRAD SCHOOL ADVICE: Hi there, I am a HR professional and love my career. There are definitely some HARD days that make me question why I'm still in HR but I am passionate about people and helping them. That said, I have been thinking about going back to school for quite some time. I was interested in pursuing a MBA but now wanting to specialize in psychology. I think this is a better route for me. I want to understand people. Any HR/psychology grad students or alums? Online school suggestions?
I was asked to make a 30 60 90 for a sale. I feel like it's kind of basic and find my 60 and 90 slides are sparse. Anyone able to offer suggestions? Really appreciate it!!

If I’m making a move to a new company and they mandate the vaccine, how do they validate that? Are companies asking for literal proof?
Wondering if anyone has suggestions for welcoming a new Director to our company.
My boss suggested bright colored balloons, but I feel like that's too childish. What are some professional, classy ways to say, "welcome to the team, we're glad you're here"?
I'm going with a greeting card signed by HR and his boss.
Any other thoughts?
I have a team member who has a tendency to miss deadlines, is reluctant to take on tasks which they don't like or refuses to participate in company-wide mandates w/o me & the other team members validating the why's. Prior to joining my team, this behavior was alluded to but never told to me directly. Now I'm seeing it. I've discussed missed deadlines which are acknowledged but w/o permanent resolution. I'm going to give her a verbal warning in the upcoming review. Other suggestions?
Where are you located and where does payroll live in your company, and what size/industry?
I'm in Ontario Canada, small (75 ppl tech firm) and payroll has always sat in finance. In prev other small and mid sized tech companies has been the same, payroll is in finance. Our new American finance leader wants it to move to HR and I absolutely do not want payroll, nor is my team capable of doing payroll, even with training. It's not standard from what I've seen, but curious what others experience is

Amazon Interview Question:
I’m about to go to my 2nd interview and they’re asking about any other jobs offers I got and if I’ve got a deadline.
I’m about to start on a new job next month (I didn’t want to risk being jobless if Amazon doesn’t work out).
What should I say to Amazon?
I wanna be honest but I’m afraid they’ll lose interest.
I appreciate any help.
Is anyone else really turned off when looking for jobs, you notice that there are very few women in upper management in general? In general, it looks like the team isn’t diverse. I’m not sure if I’m just trying to find flaws or if this is a valid thing to consider 😅

Well-traveled people: what seem like the best major market cities to live in with access to great in-house jobs (FAANG, adjacent companies, etc.). Some markets seem like really fun places to live but seem insanely expensive (San Fran, DC). Others seem like great comp to cost of living ratios but you seem like you’d basically be in a boring suburb (Raleigh, etc.) or have major drawbacks (arctic weather in Chicago, etc.). Maybe I’m totally off base though. Would love to hear everyone’s thoughts.
Anyone work for Nevro Medical Device Company before? Can you tell me what the culture is like and if they have career growth opportunities for Senior Analysts?
