Have you ever had crushes on colleagues at work? Did you make a move and approach them?

A client is discreetly asking me if I can join them as an employee. Should I report this to my manager? If I take up this offer will there be any repercussions?

Not sure if this is the right place, but in a privately owned business located in a right to work state, is verbal abuse allowed and would swearing at and putting down an employee in front of a bunch of other employees and in front of customers be deemed verbal abuse? Can owners demand you work a certain amount of hours a week if it’s 100% commission?

A manager I work with is my official mentor at the firm. They expected me to do something for them in busy season when I was booked on another client, but when I try to get time to talk to them about my reviews or performance, they seem to just ignore my invites or reschedule constantly and last minute. Is it wrong to feel annoyed by this? What’s the motive behind that?

I posted this somewhere else before I remembered that I am in this bowl :) so, I changed jobs 6-7 months ago and I am realizing it is not a good fit. Leadership seem to not want to hear the truth so people tell them what they want to hear and if you don’t middle management gets pissed at you. I am seriously thinking about looking somewhere else. My question is how do you answer the “why are you looking to leave” question without bad mouthing your current company?

How do you deal with making mistakes at work? I’ve been doing good work lately but there’s one partner who thinks I’m mistake prone and I just made a mistake on something he asked me to do, but I corrected it quickly. However, there is public record of my mistake.

My manager micro manages everything I do, and I’m losing my mind. Wanted to see how any of you have handled a manager like this, and get some advice on how to tell them to literally stop.

Anyone witness slackers who got into companies you have no idea how? Had a coworker who does jack chit at work besides chatting on Facebook yet lands at a faang company? I guess if he brings the same work ethic he will be spit out for sure. Or maybe he just had no interest in doing project work.

Do you set up any standards when you date with anybody? I’m currently dating with a Mexican man. He is older than me 10 years old (I thought 6 when we first met). His job is construction and made less than me. He is insecure about the money but I’m not really. But, the one bothering me is that he is illegal immigrant. Other than that, He is a cure, nice and independent guy. When dating, he split money/ or want to cover for me. He cares about people around. I am happy but not sure about LT.

How do you engage your students in more reading outside of what is required in the classroom? With each passing year I am finding an ever shrinking population of students, including honors students, who actually read beyond what is posted in social media or video games. Students willingly volunteer that they do not read and most parents see it as a non-issue. I tell my students that the best readers are usually the best writers.
