Only include 10 years of work exp on your resume. remove the date for when your degree was awarded. Focus on the transferable skills: no need to write about administering blood transfusions if you are applying for an admin position. Instead write about customer-focused (not patient-focused), meeting deadlines, scheduling, communication, patience during a crisis.
22 years of keeping people alive and they're treating it like a gap on your resume. That's genuinely maddening. The skills transfer more than most hiring managers realize, they just can't see past the industry label.

I understand the practical aspect of your response, but since I'm not reading parade magazine exclusively and charging my jazzy chair in the same outlet as my life alert pendent... I'm going to calmly agree with you and say Thanks.
I feel the same 30 yrs as a Doctor of CHiropractic is no better.
