A client offered me a position doing my current job. What do you guys think ? Are we allowed (NDA and stuff) ? Any experience of switching over to clients ?

Unless you live in Montana, you work at will and can change employers as easily as your employer can terminate you at will. Pragmatically, you should ask the offering firm what non-poaching clauses may exist in your Master Services Agreement or Engagement Letter.

like

I feel like this happens a lot

like

If you're in California, even anti-poaching clauses are illegal

like

The clauses are usually there and rarely upheld. There will be an approval process to make sure EY doesn't sue client. Your more valuable at client than at EY 😉

Happens all the time. Usually the firm is cool with it, or at least pretends to be, because now you are the client and they already have a relationship with you.

Do it. I've done it before.

Common occurrence. Congrats if that's what you want to do.

Thanks for the advice ! 🙂

Does anyone include a bit on invoices like "Accounts not paid within terms are subject to a .75% monthly (9% annual) finance charge" or something like that?

Tangentially, has anyone had an invoice with 30-day terms kicked back for revisions because the client's terms are longer, or do they just ignore what you've stipulated?

Understanding, $1M is no longer the goal but for those of you that have achieved this already - What was the age you achieved it and are you including your home equity?
