Got a random email from a supposed Amazon recruiter for a SDE position (which is not at all a fit). The email is amazon.com domain and there are no red flags in the body but it doesn't feel like an Amazon recruiter due to the tacky signature, etc. Has anyone seen this kind of cold-calling from FAANG recruiter?

WLB will 100% be better at Accenture than at Strategy&. Overall culture is much friendlier as well. Source: I have many friends currently at Strategy& and some colleagues that came from there as well. The comp at ACN will definitely be lower, but honestly if you do a per hour comparison and also compare overall happiness you will be better off at ACN. Just depends on what is most important to you

Echoing everyone's comments on shorter path to MD + WLB.
I just joined from Deloitte and I will say the people here are incredibly friendly & happy to help. I have MDs whom I've never met going out of their way to call me just to introduce themselves.
Also signing bonuses can be pretty substantial, I got a touch over 40K. We are on a cohort model similar to S&. Progression for Manager base is M1 177.5, M2 187.5, M3 197.5...have also heard some rumors that the bases may go up in response to the hot market.
Last fall we were dropped to 172, 182, 192. They reduced last year rather than increases. Turnover has spiked as a result. They increases M1 to 177, but the others remained.
It’s a bit of a stretch for new M at S& to hit 280k. More likely ~250-260k.
April - 10% for me since I started as an SA.
At OP: you are expecting a 30/35% bonus S& if not more. Is that realistic?
Yeah T2 bonus is ~35% + 10% milestone bonus
You won’t hit that until SM2-SM3 at current structure. WLB is not bad, my only experience outside of ACN aid industry though.

WLB in strategy won’t be any better at ACN. 280 is the base salary of some MDs here in the lower COL cities

Sorry but this is not accurate - also WLB here is considerably better than S&...

They have levers to match or exceed your comp as an EH. And they could bring you in as M2 so you save a year. Also should compare time to MD/P between the two firms.
One of the big drawbacks at PwC/ S& however is that we have the added layer of director role. At Eyp and D people can just go from SM to partner. Too young to know more but I think it would save you 2 years overall.
Currently debating two offers at M for ACN Strategy and S&. Very interested in WLB experience across the two firms
I took a A offer over S&. Happy to chat about differences

OP I agree with the consensus here: as a manager in ACN Strat I really think we have a great WLB. But compared to S& I’m sure the money is a little less. However I would personally not take more money if it meant more hours. I have a great balance of more than enough money for my financial goals but a workload which is manageable (obviously it varies with each project but the average is good for what I’m paid).
There’s no way you’d make that at ACN in the next 3yrs unless we significantly ramp up.
Can anyone share average bonus % for managers?
Also how many hours has been typical lately? Consumer products industry if that’s helpful
