About to get on a zoom call with partner, another associate and client regarding slam ongoing transaction—should I wear a tie and jacket, just jacket, or is just a dress shirt fine?

I wear hoodies when I am at home. Sometimes to create the appearance of formality I put on my nice Lululemon hoodie though.

likefunny

As a woman, I just drape a nice big scarf around me to disguise the fact that I am wearing a sweatshirt that may say SEND NOODS (with a bowl of noodles image).

Jackets and ties seem rare for standard zoom calls (as opposed to hearings, formal negotiations, etc.). I’d do a dress shirt.

When I’m not sure about these things, I often join with my camera off and see what others are wearing. I’ll throw a jacket on if I see others wearing the same. For important stuff or new clients, I’ll also just ask the partner. Pre-COVID, I regularly discussed attire expectations with partners (Are you wearing a suit tomorrow, etc.) for in person stuff.

Got it thank you!

Just turn your camera off

This is the way.

I love working naked at home so I just turned video off

an ongoing transaction*

Why don’t you just ask the other associate?

Polo shirt or unbuttoned button down or sweater or just tilt the camera up so your clothes aren’t in the frame!

Dress shirt is fine. Tie is way too much

I’ve been asked by a client to coach their team on how to structure and write scripts for their corporate event content (e.g. panel discussions). I’ve happily had a crack at helping them but it’s a bit out of my wheelhouse - is this ask something that would ordinarily be given to an agency copywriter? Or would it usually be something a content or speech writer would do?
Either way, I’m happy to add the additional skill to my CV 😅

I have a real estate client who at the top of his organization chart owns is 50/50 partners in a real estate investment company. First question is it advantageous to have the top of the organization 50/50 partners own the r/e company as an s-corp? That 50/50 company then owns 70% of holding company they own all the real estate as a partnership that the original partners are 35/35 and the investors own the remainder. All the real estate deals are then owned by this holding company.
