ACN, I'm in Resources and just got on the bench. I want to switch to healthcare. Any tips on how I can get myself on a healthcare project if all my experience and network is in resources?

Look at the big healthcare projects - they usually have a variety of roles, and at least a few of them would overlap with the skill set that you gained in your resources roles

We have a big client in Nashville that is desperate. It's not fun work, but it's an angle to get into healthcare.

What's resources?

I always thought resources would be more fun. Why do you want to move to healthcare?

It's just the industry I'm interested in. My undergrad background was in bioengineering, was misplaced/forced 4 years ago into resources as a campus hire due to being in Texas.

Ahh. Then the posts above all seem good. You might also want to reach out to MD's in your location that are in the healthcare space.

Talk to other consultants in healthcare and see what they're working on, maybe try to help with proposals. If you were at Deloitte, I would say don't bother right now, a lot of healthcare consultants are being taken to out of industry projects anyway.

I'm at ACN in health. I think it would be hard as we have a larger pool now some of it bench and some from acquisitions. But it's about who you know partially.

Do you know anyone that left PA for a blue collar job (electrician, plumber, pipefitter, etc.)? I grew up in a blue collar family and sometimes I think I may enjoy that kind of work more.
