Advice on finding a primary care doctor? New Chicago hire and haven’t done this process nor do I really understand how insurance works. No parents to help navigate and all my friends are uninsured.

I would log into your insurance website and you can find primary care doctors that are in network for your insurance. The key is to just make sure they are in network. If you have blue cross, blue shield, there customer service line is extremely helpful. I’m sure other ones are as well.

Also most are doing e-visits. I had a follow up with my primary and it was done over video. Usually you only see your primary care doctor once a year for a physical. They also would be the ones to write a referral if you needed to see a specialist. Hope that helps!

Especially in the time of COVID. Can I get one via virtual visit? Those seem like one-off things. I’ve never had a doctor since being a young child so not quite sure of the process.

The website will show you all the doctors but I suggest asking a couple of trusted colleagues for a recommendation (as they have the same insurance). That way you'll find one that at least one person likes

Hi all! I’m an engineer working in the global health space and I’m finding it’s a small, small pool. Anyone who’s worked in nonprofit spaces - did you stay? Did you switch to consulting/government/etc or go corporate? I’ve been applying without much response, and I’m debating whether a PMP very or masters is going to be necessary.

This is my first job in a large corporate company, and I’m trying to gauge how long it normally takes to move from entry level to another internal position in the insurance industry. I have been applying internally for a year now and I am wondering if this is normal or if my company is just slow? I am a top performer, with great metrics, and I have some wonderful connections I’ve made who support me. I just can’t seem to move up. How long did it take you to move up? How many tries did it take?
