3rd year M&A associate who got stealthed from a V50. They gave me 3 months severance. I’ve got about 350k saved up, no debt, and am single. I’m thinking about traveling the world for a year and then reapplying for jobs. Is that a bad idea?

We are currently pregnant and at 20 weeks. My husbands was about to tell his manager about the pregnancy and paternity leave plans but then started to hear some layoff rumors which now seems inevitable. His project also did’t get extended (totally unexpected) and his team is getting released at the current client. Now he is unsure of if and when he should let his manager know. He does not want it to backfire on him. Suggestions?

How do I ask for match pay/ offer? I’m applying for a new role and a former colleague of mine who used to work with me in my current role, was offered more. Granted, I understand it’s based on work experience, but after having in depth conversations with other employers, I feel like I should be paid the same. After so many failures we are pregnant through IVF. Though my parents knew we were going through treatments never discussed in details. Early morning appointments, lots of medicines , lots of heartbreaks , trying everything we could. Being in an Indian household my mom didn’t acknowledge it which is okay but she thinks it’s okay to credit an aunt who prayed for us.
