It’s been a grueling 18 months, for everyone. There’s a unique story I’d like to share and it’s my own but I have to believe it’s not only mine. I was privileged enough to be able to WFH during the pandemic and change jobs to a fully remote job during this time. The isolation has become so complete, with the lack of connection and professional rapport or daily respect/clarity thru slack convos and sporadic zoom - I’m at an all time mental low barely able to start this Monday morning.

Submitted a resume to a recruiter for a job last Monday. They called me within 2 hours and asked to schedule a phone call. The call went well, and they sent me all the necessary paperwork they need me to sign. I signed it within the hour and sent them an email saying I’m looking forward to working with them. Haven’t heard anything back since then. Is that weird? Does the recruiter actually think I am a good fit for the role? She sent me the name of the company and everything.

If you are interested, Marcus is having a promotion for an extra .50% APY for 3 months after opening an account. I’ve long disliked the term ethics. Definitions of ethics all refer to morals. Morals are very personal and vary a lot from person to person, culture to culture. Law is how we as a society express our preferences and impose rules and restrictions on ourselves. So the question should never be about whether companies can be ethical. What does that mean? One person thinks eating meat is unethical, another thinks it’s perfectly ethical. Companies should focus on complying with the law.
