Hi all, does anyone know of any recruiters or hiring managers that work in Affirm Inc. I've been applying for a couple of jobs with them . The role I have applied for I know lam a extraordinary fit for
100% and can help the company/ department succeed. I have a good deal of experience with this role and would love to talk to a recruiter or a hiring manager more about this. If anyone
could reach out to me if you have any information on that I would greatly appreciate it.

I've worked in offices where desks had to be manned just because calls could come in, or visitors could arrive. If that was the case, there could be some rationale for your manager's behavior. But if they were being difficult just to be difficult, then talk to them and find out how they expect you to handle an assignment that requires you to leave the desk. It's possible they haven't really thought it through.
They sound like a pain and what Id want to say is too confrontational. I'd probably land on asking them if it would help if you let them know when you are stepping away to complete the tasks for them. If they still don't want you to leave, ask how they would prefer those tasks be handled then.
I would begin to over report…honestly and unfortunately, if this is done in the beginning of a new boss relationship they will become annoyed no longer “wondering” where you are/doing. Casually send a chat of where are going/ doing. Make sure the note informs and toots horn.
Sounds like you should have a conversation with them about expectations and micro-managing. I would try to schedule a 1:1 so you can actually have a full conversation about it instead of just hoping it doesn't happen again!
…. They will become accustomed to knowing that if you are away, then you are taking care of business.
Only thing I can recommend is like everyone else has already recommended is to talk to your boss about expectations and try to explain what it was you were doing and how it pertains to your daily tasks at your job. Hopefully your boss will understand.
