Can someone give me an overview of what Internal Audit does? Received an offer for IA and currently work in External Audit. Want to know the differences between the two.

Anyone here ever struggled working at a private practice during your first year as a licensed counselor? I work well with the clients but I find it difficult to accept the pay I receive for the amount of work I do and is required. Lately, I realize I haven’t been putting in much effort towards paperwork because of the pay I receive.

Any other lonely social workers in here? I mean a lot to some of the people on my caseload but that's about it. Don't have any family near me and it's hard to make friends with non-SW's mostly just because I'm too tired after work to want to do much. Curious as to how many deals at once is typical for a first year associate to take on (M&A, mostly private equity clients). Deal size is lower middle market and I’ve worked on deals ranging from $1-$110M. 2 deals at once is plenty for me, but it seems like my peers are able to take on more than that at once and still do fine. Maybe I’m just a slow learner/out of my league at the big law firm I’m at.

What's the biggest salary jump you've made in CTL, and how did you do it?

Any recommendations for good videographers in NYC/Tri-State? A lot of the affordable ones I find make the cheesiest videos. I’ve certainly found some good ones but very expensive. I know you get what you pay for, but there has to be someone reasonably priced out there that delivers quality work. I am splurging on the photographer so this would just be an extra.

Getting married in September, have a vax only policy for guests. My fiancé’s sister is bringing her unvaccinated spouse to the hotel where all the wedding festivities are being held b/c she is too scared to fly on an airplane without him. I find this incredibly uncomfortable and selfish given it will put me and my fiancé in an uncomfortable position (and it will also put my elderly parents and other vulnerable fam members at risk). Have you talked about your wedding with coworkers? I made the mistake of saying I had to leave work a little early one day because I was going to do a tasting at my venue. That starts a debate on why one shouldn’t get married, how much wedding costs & what a waste it is, dresses are stupid because you only wear them once, etc. I haven’t talked about my wedding much, but I didn’t appreciate this. I ignored the negative comments and we moved the conversation along. Not talking about that anymore!

We decided to do a photo session before the wedding for the two of us and family. The photographer and the location were amazing but the makeup was terrible, and because I was low on time, I couldn't fix it before the photos. The makeup artist make me look yellow! Idk if there's anything that could be done at this point, but feeling so disappointed :(
