Anyone else done a new construction build recently and can share ballpark on price/sqft that it cost (excluding land)? My builder is saying everything but lumber is up and all his builds are around $300/sqft right now and that seems high (realize this is just a ballpark and some builds may vary drastically). For reference, it’s a custom builder in the SE that specializes on luxury homes in the 4,500-7,000 sqft range

Tax question: married filing jointly for 1st time next year. Company recommends/requires me to fill out its tax calculator. Is this required? Can I just leave it at 0? What are implications if I skip this exercise? Overpay? Underpay? Enough to maybe have a penalty? Me and wife are ~$250k/$150K=$400k total.

In DXC, PF amount is not credited in to EPFO directly.
We have UAN and it looks like not activated.
How can we transfer PF amount from DXC to EPFO portal?

Who else is reeling under the pain of taxes?

Started at a big firm in July with high hopes- in the career path I wanted and I would be joining with other new grads.
After onboarding, it’s as if my team forgets about us every day. The training is non existent, there doesn’t seem to be any initiative to invest in new hires, my manager scolds me for not knowing enough yet gives no direction. I'm under contract for a new build in progress that won't be done until much later this year. I fully expect interest rates will be higher than what I originally estimated. I may or may not try to lock in a good rate early, but I'm planning on renting it out and this throws a bit if a wrench in my margins. I can take it financially, but wondering, If I absolutely needed to get out of buying it, what recourse do I have? Or could I go ahead, and refinance later (who knows rates at that time...)?

In the contract the seller/builder included a clause that gave them the ability to change the price without cause anytime before the house is complete. Under contract to buy my first home - house hacking a triplex. Property has been leased by the same three tenants for the last 5+ yrs, rents haven’t been raised since they moved in. Market rents have risen 70-100% in the same timeframe. All seem like ideal tenants (retired and take great care of the units) but I’d like advice on how to approach the rent increase conversation. Rents don’t make/break my mortgage payment but I’m leaving a lot on the table if I don’t increase significantly.
