Hi Fishes
I want to share very bad experience I had at Mastercard
I was given offer by Mastercard in month of Dec The hike was less but looking at brand & other perks I accepted the offer & was looking forward to joining them.I got few offers & I went back to them for sole purpose of renegotiating CTC, to have a industry standard hike. They didn't reverted back for 2-3 days & just dropped a mail that they are revoking initial offer as well on grounds that they didn't like i gave other interview

Hi there. First, take a deep breath and tell yourself that you can do this. Second, make sure that you’re dressed appropriately for the interview. It’s a coffee shop but you still need a clean shirt, pants, and clean shoes.
Take a few minutes and look in a mirror and practice answering some questions. You can do the same thing with your phone camera if you want. 1) Why do you want to work at Starbucks? Ex: I am interested in working at Starbucks because I enjoy the drinks plus I want to be able to provide good customer service and a great product to customers. 2) Do you have any experience? Ex: Yes, I spent a month in (x) coffee shop making Americanos and Lattes. 3) Are you willing to cross train for cashier, barista and food service ? Ex: yes 4) What days/hours are you willing to work? 5) Would you be able to cover for another employee if we needed you to? 6) Are you willing to work weekends? 7) Do you have any questions? Ex: Rate of pay, paid weekly/bi weekly, paid time off, how are sick days handled?
Take a deep breath before you go in. Remember to smile and make eye contact. You’ve got this!!!! Good luck.
Don't ask about sick days.
Thank you for the advice, I really appreciate it. Im gonna try my best and I'll focus on making myself seem outwards, approachable and customer-focused.
You’re welcome! Good luck. :)
Show them a skill set that can’t be easily taught, for a coffee place you would want to show a focus on interpersonal communication skills with coffee making being the easily teachable technical skill
We ask behavioral questions to find out if you’d be a good fit for the role. Don’t answer with how you would handle a situation because we are looking for HOW you’ve ALREADY handled a situation. Breathe and be yourself. If you have someone who cares, they’ll acknowledge that interviewing can cause nerves and let you breathe. I try to make the person in front of me comfortable because I rather enjoy a conversation, not one that’s just a quiet, quick answer of a question. If you can create a conversation with your answers, without being wordy, you’ll likely land the interview. Good luck!
Congratulations!! Welcome to this side of the Siren. Proud to be your partner!
Thank you for the advice,I originally planned for the question of "when did you provide great customer service" I would talk of my experience during the time I had a month work experience at a cafe in a busy are where a customer was distressed since she had bought a cake recently from another supplier but it got damaged in transit and she was all anxious and panicky. I listened then I told her about our stock and that we have full sized cakes and reassured her. I then suggested to her the most similar option to the cake she had previously got which was (simply put) a tripe chocolate cake). She left satisfied and thankful. Do you think this is a good experience to talk about?
Ahaha, thank you. Every reply and every bit of advice I get makes me a bit more confident each time. Thank you very much for your time and for sharing though. I really appreciate it 😁
They didn't even ask half the questions I prepared for 😭
Make sure you appearance is clean and neat. I would smile and ask questions to show you are engaged.
They are definitely going to ask you why you were at the last place for a month. Why did you leave? As it is experience that you want to use, you will need to tell them why you left. Make sure to have examples of adaptability, how you learn: quick learner, flexibility & cutomer service. You could ask them what do they see as a great employee. Do a search on Starbucks or whatever coffee place to learn about the company.
