This is a tricky question because I believe it presents a little differently in everyone. This means that it happens to most people and that there's almost infinite ways of coping or adjusting.
For me, it's about having really authentic, open, supportive friends who can be a buffer if I'm on a downward thought spiral for too long.
And if I'm feeling inadequate at work or in school, I set my own goals. They already hired or accepted me. So all I have to do is be a little better than yesterday. And with clients, if you're Black and in healthcare, chances are they already like you and want you to do well.
As a perfectionist who also suffers from impostor syndrome, one thing that helped me is affirmations. Start your day by giving yourself kindness. Look in front of a mirror and start a daily mantra. It doesn't have to be anything flowery. A simple "I am good enough" can suffice. Another thing I did was talk about it. You're gonna need an outlet for those emotions and having a good set of family or friends can really help.
