Forcing me to use my standing desk

For those eligible for vaccines in Illinois as part of group 1b+ (pre existing conditions) and have access to transportation, there are many appointment windows available in Springfield and southern IL (3 to 4 hour drive) State site explicitly says all zip codes can get vaccinated at these sites: https://coronavirus.illinois.gov/s/statewide-vaccination-locations

Am going through that now, has created a number of issues - didn't realize the seriousness of it but significantly r duces range of motion, stiffness in upper and lower back - seeing physio and getting deep tissue massages. Recommend you not put it off - standing desk with screen level with or just below eyes, highly recommended
I wish I knew the answer to this but my body has absolutely fallen apart since this job. I get a lot of massages back when I'm at home but it's just a temporary fix for my back. I've seen some interesting screen setup gear that lifts laptop to eye level from coworkers. You can search for them on Amazon. I haven't tried or purchased any yet but it's on my to do list.
Standing desk, sitting on an exercise ball, and having the discipline to exercise good posture standing and sitting
I never had issues until very recently, I'm 35 and keep very fit. Put a lacrosse ball in your luggage and use it when you wake up and before bed every day! The key is to find the root cause of issues and not just target the pain like a foam roller... So for me, I had bouts of pretty severe neck pain and tightness that was actually in my shoulders/rotator cuff, latter probably scar tissue from being a pitcher in high school. Place the ball right under a shoulder blade while laying on the ground and do arm circles like your body is a clock, both directions. Also pretend you are unsheathing a sword. I also roll around right at the armpit (could feel the scar tissue breaking up when I did this) and as high up as I can go on the shoulders. Not as good as an actual trigger point massage but cheaper and quicker.
That plane also really does wonders to the degradation of your posture and back/neck. I get massages once a month and probably will start doing some yoga to fix my current situation. I also got myofascial massages which helped SO much.
Also I don't know what insurance you have for but some companies / states have generous reimbursement policies around physical therapy and you can go see one for X sessions (usually 10) without the hassle of a referral from an orthopedist or getting x-rays and MRI. At $10 copay a pop it's a LOT cheaper than $100 out of pocket for massage or chiro and arguably more scientifically sound. My sessions include massage, stim, and exercises that you can do in the hotel room. And most places open really early and late - check out SPEAR, they're a network that's growing across the US and they have a lot of transparency around insurance and billing and give you clear idea of how much it'll cost you.
Also if you have typical computer posture issues, exercise to counteract it... Weighted rows and chin ups/lat pull downs (as opposed to pull ups), and back squats should be a part of any plan, which will likely reveal hamstring, hip, and lower back tightness that needs to be addressed. You will need some pressing to complete a plan (bench, overhead, dips/tricep push downs) but deemphasize because shoulder mobility issues will make it difficult to press overhead and too much benching will exacerbate slumped posture issues.
Do not go to a chiropractor, that practice is nonsense.
K1 not exactly... There are "2 kinds" of chiro...the "adjustment fixes your whole life" ones are BS. The "adjustment can help fix pain and mobility issues in neck and back" ones are good. Mine was teamed up with massage therapists so I'd book a massage and then get adjusted after; that was the best.
PT
The adjustments do not address the root causes of the issues, which then keeps you coming back when the issue returns. I know it can provide temporary relief, but spinal manipulation is not safe. I find it disturbing that anyone would manipulate a spine and not even require an X-ray to show the issue (or adjust before the X-rays are done). Why would anyone let someone "adjust" something as vital as the spine just on their word it would help without fully understanding the root of the issue? The whole practice was started by a magnetic healer, and also I take issue with chiropractors referring to themselves as doctors...they definitely are not. Sorry for the rant, but I don't think highly of this practice at all.
talk to your HR person. Your company health plan may offer a vocational assessment. May also be called "predisability program".
