Meritocracy is one of the best ideologies of the modern world. Was reflecting about what it means and the importance of it - it’s a shame that today’s culture is trying to pivot away/“cancel” it. Just a midday meeting thoughts lol Work hard and reap the fruits of your labour.

Is the main advantage of applying to mba early simply to literally start making more sooner? Is it easier when you’re younger? I’m fortunately not in a rush to apply and I think next year my app will be stronger, my income is not gonna be much higher post mba, I’ll have another promotion, better recs, and less debt to take on. What am I missing?
At a B4 stressed but managing it. Partner passed me over for a sr manager but treats me like one (constantly managing multiple projects, driving his practice initiatives and driving 1-2 /$300-500k of proposals every month. Boutique is offering me the TC that I won’t make here for 3-4 years - same level, more focused scope. Also talking to a tech firm that will be a slight bump (10-15%) but likely 25% less work/stress. Worried a little bit about career progression. Thoughts?

Anyone decide not to BF right out the gate? Please no judgement I have made no decision yet. Halfway through pregnancy and already tired of sharing my body, and husband and I want to share feeding duty equally (ie not with me pumping / being attached to baby). I’m 36, earn 100k and I work maybe 30 hours a week, and I’m a shining star. It allows me to enjoy life without stress. I can linger around and see myself (slowly) climbing the ladder. But part of me wants to put in hard work and grow a lot in my career and earn more for a stable financial future, but it means I’ve got to work more and stress more and I’m worried I won’t get time to relax and enjoy my life as before. But also I’m worried I’ll slack off. Anyone going through this? Would I regret?
