We all have different physiologies, so the way that withdrawal symptoms manifest themselves can vary a lot from person to person. It also depends on the specific substance, as well as how long you used for, and factors such as your age, weight, and overall lifestyle.

There’s physical withdraw, and then mental withdrawal, and then emotional withdrawal, and if you work a program like AA you might also experience spiritual withdrawal (though typically only in hindsight, since most of us walk in as agnostic or atheist).
Also, we tend to make several changes all at once when we quit; our diet changes, we drink more caffeine and eat more sugar, and we also feel way more feelings, which is usually the most difficult part. It definitely helps to have some close folks who are in recovery who understand that you can talk to.
One thing that is almost absolute. You will find a crutch. A great percentage of people give up alcohol or drugs and develop a tremendous coffee drinking habit. If you sleep in or run out coffee, and find caffeine withdrawal is sometimes physically worse than the withdrawals from whatever you quit intially.
Is it possible that that creeping feeling your getting may be something like that. Or maybe clear more focused thoughts let's you remember you don't have any of your substance of choice. Just do what you can to keep yourself busy and distracted so much as you are able. Until you can get to a meeting or call your sponsor whatever coping mechanism is
