Hello fellow introverts! Instead of talking to people I have an Instagram account to shout my opinions about books into the void. Id love it if any of you would be willing to take a look and give me feedback on the reviews. I feel like they aren't quite at the level I'm aiming for.

Remote coffee chats serve the same purpose. As an introvert, I find it much easier to connect with people individually, and once I’ve done so, speaking up in meetings they are in or presenting to them feels more natural. Many people (at all levels) enjoy giving advice, so I usually frame it as getting their thoughts on a particular topic. This allows me to shape my first impression, rather than just coming off as the “quiet one” in meetings.

I’m in the same boat. I agree with virtual coffee chats. It’s also ok to directly say you want to get to know people more personally and offer up time to chat. I posted that in a group slack channel and a couple individuals reached out and scheduled getting-to-know-you calls outside work hours (one of them is my manager). I also got bonus points for showing initiative 😉
I’ve started my new job remotely, never met any of my co-workers in person. We don’t do any coffee and happy hour chats ( thank god!) I just reached out to each person on the team and had one on one time with them, learned about their skills and background and now when I work I include coworkers that are experts on whichever project I’m working on. I don’t feel the need to do anything extra.
I just started a new job and feel exactly this way OP. I’m finding it tough going at the moment and feel quite lonely
