I had my interview with Cognizant last month. HR round and salary discussion was completed on 27th September. The HR said offer letter would be released within 2weeks. Now it's already 2weeks. But I didn't hear back from the HR. What shall I do?Accenture Accenture India Tata Consultancy Capgemini

Was same situation. Still rented. Too much hassle not to have stuff unpacked. Beach time uncertainty. Can certainly save serious money but wasn’t sure worth it.
Same here
You need a place to keep your stuff, a place that’s yours, a place to fall back to if you’re on the bench.
Economics of it is up to you
Economics aside, I absolutely need a place of my own for the sake of my sanity. I also need things to be exactly where I left them on Monday morning when I'm back Thursday! I have a moderately priced apartment in a safe area and 15% of my gross pay goes in it. Not too bad!
I've been travelling for a year and will be likely for another year or two. I keep a low rent place in my home city, and rack up travel miles & per diem (I do local groceries so per diem is candy). The economics are great.
I'd suggest if rent in your home town is high, you rent a room & put stuff in storage. Otherwise if you move to where you're working, your moving expenses won't likely be paid, you wont get to claim the car rental/Uber charges, per diem, and then you'll have to pay your own way to come home, assuming you've built a home where you are now.
I’ve only rented for 1 year out of 4 in consulting, so lived 3 years so far without a home. Very happy with that decision. I know many others who considered it, some who tried it - out of the ones who tried it, most did end up hating it eventually. Just a question of personality.
I couldn’t care less about coming home to the same apartment every Friday, it doesn’t give me a sense of stability. If you do need to feel good though, the money savings aren’t gonna be enough to make you happy.
Doesn’t make sense to rent..
I am in the same situation b/c home city is New York.
I am paying the rent every month (not very cheap) + travel every month. This has lasted for almost one year. Feel like I wasted a lot of money: (
Am exactly in similar dilemma. I do not have a place for last 3 months now and I miss having a place thats mine. I live close to greater new york and in dilemma if I shld move to city or further south where its cheap to own a place. I am 31 and single. I wanted to move close to my clients but am in short term assignments and sometimes no travel in btwn.
