I am looking to identify committed Christians within Deloitte who would be interested in serving on the US board of a global non-profit committed to restoring the lives of those who have been traumatized via human trafficking or gender-based violence in SE Asia. Deloitte has been instrumental in partnering with Hagar International via pro-bono consulting and we would love to leverage this partnership on our US board.

I will say - point of church is community, we can’t be only passive watchers.
What helps is to join life groups / community groups especially in your target demographic.
There’s something powerful about a group of humans coming together with the goal of becoming good. They are one body, that leaves the church and dispersed into the world to be the light.
At first I was but I told myself I was going to starting on one day and I just did and have been going regularly. I think the hardest part was just going that first time. Then I realized how much I missed the church and community, especially the worship
Totally agree - need to get plugged in via a small group for sure. I do miss worship, will have to just commit to going.
Are you concerned about Covid, or just struggling with motivation?
You can’t build a community if you’re not there. See what else they have going on during the week or on Sundays. Maybe a dinner or study group, maybe a class before the service, maybe an activity, try to find something to attend! If you keep staying home it will feed into the cycle of not being connected to anyone there.
Commitment is one of the hardest lessons we spend our lives learning. Definitely get connected to a small group or involved in volunteer work helps you become accountable to others and regular in your attendance. At least we’re free to attend in this country, not everyone has that.
I had a really similar experience. What it really took for me was forcing myself to go a couple times, and then finding a church that was a good fit for me since I moved during Covid.
Might be best to find a bible study group of folks to hold you accountable in growing in the word. I have one I could suggest if you’re interested. It’s virtual.
